In the last post, we verified that the web services service was running and that the web services were working; in this post we’re going to verify the security was correctly deployed.

To do this open the Dynamics Security Console:

Hands On With Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 RTM: Web Services Service Verification

After installing and configuring the web services, I would always recommend verifying the install to ensure they are working correctly.

The first step, is to check the Windows Service is running; to do this open the Services control panel applet (which can also be accessed by using Win+R and typing services.msc).

Scroll down the list and find Microsoft Dynamics GP Service Host and make sure it is Running and set to Automatic:

With the web services installed, the next step is to configure them using the Web Services for Microsoft Dynamics GP Configuration Wizard. Launch the wizard and click Next on the welcome screen:

With the web client, installed and tested it’s time to move onto the next of the additional tools that come with Dynamics GP 2015. As I intend to make use of the Workflow 2.0 I need to have the web services installed to be able to make use of the email actions.

So the next five posts will look at the installation and configuration of the web services. To begin the installation of the web services, open the setup utility and select :

The performance of the web client can be improved by installing the GP Web Resource Cache which is on the installation media. Run the setup.exe and click on GP Web Resource Cache:

Hands On With Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 RTM: First Run Of The Web Client

Microsoft Dynamics GPNow that Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 RTM is available, I thought I could follow my usual pattern of posting a series of posts on how to install and configure both Dynamics GP, but also the additional products which ship with it. Over the last few posts, I have walked through the install and configuration of the Dynamics GP web client. Now it’s time to log into the web client for the first time.

Open Internet Explorer, or you web browser of choice which can be extended with Silverlight, and navigate to http://{address}/GP where {address} is the name or address of the web server running the Session Central Service (in my case the machine is called PI-GP.

When the page loaded, enter your Windows Domain User Name and Password:

In this post I’ll going to take a look at implementing the web client as a single-machine deployment. I am asdsuming you already have IIS installed and a security certificate installed (a self-signed certificate can be used and bound to the website.

To install the web client components, run the setup.exe from the install media and select Web Components;

In this post, I’m going to cover how to create a company in Dynamics GP 2015. To create a company, launch GP Utilities and log in with a user account which has permissions to create a database (for ease I typically use the sa account, but any account with the relevant permissions can be used):
