ClassicPressIn this series of articles, I am going to introduce each of the plugins I have developed for ClassicPress, a hard-fork of WordPress, which was originally created to provide an alternative, yet compatible, CMS without the Gutenberg block editor.

The 48th plugin is Timelines.

Timelines

Create timelines showing the sequence of events and place in any post or page using a shortcode.

Timelines create a custom post type for timeline entry; timelines are used by adding the `

    ` shortcode

    Integrate with Flags and Nearby to display a country flag next to timeline entry; Nearby is required for the setting of a country on a post or page.

    This plugin is multisite compatible; each site will need settings to be configured in the admin dashboard.

    ClassicPress Plugins Available From azurecurve | Development in 2023: Theme Switcher

    ClassicPressIn this series of articles, I am going to introduce each of the plugins I have developed for ClassicPress, a hard-fork of WordPress, which was originally created to provide an alternative, yet compatible, CMS without the Gutenberg block editor.

    The 47th plugin is Theme Switcher.

    Theme Switcher

    Allows users to easily switch themes (ideal for allowing light/dark mode).

    Theme switcher functionality is made available to users via a widget; settings done via widget administration.

    Settings available to display available themes as a list or select drop-down; widget admin allows themes with certain prefix to be excluded and/or to include only themes containing a certain word or part of a word.

    As an alternative to using the widget, the function azc_ts_theme_switcher() can be called directly; add ‘dropdown’ as a parameter to have the select drop-down, instead of the list, of themes returned.

    This plugin is multisite compatible; each site will place and configure the Theme Switcher widget.

    The seventh of the new functionality in the Country and regional section is new Intrastat – Czechia.

    The new feature covers the Intrastat functionality in Czechia, including document and status history and a configurable reporting method.

    Feature Details

    The new Intrastat solution provides a document with different statuses that show the history of any previously reported periods. Intrastat works for both purchase and sales documents. The subject of Intrastat entries includes Items whose Type = Inventory, and Fixed Assets. Many existing capabilities are improved in this release wave, and reporting is configurable without hard-coding file exports using the data exchange framework.

    The new Intrastat CZ capability is provided as an extension depending on Intrastat Core application.

    In the last article, I took a look at basic inventory which you can use with or without a location, although I do always recommend using locations to future-proof the system.

    That is the most basic of configurations on inventory management in Business Central and is used when you don’t need to be tracking stock to specific locations in a warehouse or stock room.

    For those Business Central users who do not need, or want, to use bins for stock location management, there is a field on the Item card where you can record the typical location of items of that type; the field is Self No.:

    This is only a notational field on the item card which you can set, but which is not used to control or manage anything; the field is free-form text entry which will accept any combination of letters, numbers and symbols, up to ten characters long.

    In the last article, I covered the different levels of inventory available; however, even within the most basic level there can be quite a bit of variation.

    At the most basic level of inventory you don’t even need to use locations; I generally advise all clients to use locations and make them mandatory, even if they only have one location. This is because experience over the years has shown that a lot of those clients with one location will progress to having a second or more locations as their business expands and it is much easier to add a second site to a system with locations than introduce locations to a system in which they are enabled.

    When you have locations set as mandatory, every transaction that you process will need the location code specified; this can be made easier by applying a default on the vendor and customer cards on the receiving and shipment fasttabs respectively. Which in turn can be made easier by setting a default on the vendor and customer templates.

    The third of the new functionality in the Country and regional section is direct transfer – Czechia.

    Posting direct transfers is in accordance with the Czech accounting rules and provides a report for the posted direct transfer document.

    Feature Details

    Czech posting rules require that location transfers be posted with the defined Inventory Adjustment Account, which is different from other item journal postings. In the Transfer Orders functionality, fields for General Business Posting Groups, Ship, and Receive are added. Use this feature to post different transfer orders with different General Posting Setup, which is different from posting in an item journal.
    In the Transfer Route, fields for General Business Posting Groups, Ship, and Receive are added. This setup is automatically copied to the transfer order based on the used transfer route. These General Business Posting Groups are also used for direct transfers.

    A printout report for Posted Direct Transfer is also available with this feature.

    The second of the new functionality in the Country and regional section is advance payment and a posting preview of tax documents – Czechia.

    You can verify that tax documents are posted in the Czech Advance Payments functionality.

    Feature Details

    The advance payments functionality allows you to receive advance invoices from suppliers, issue advance invoices to customers, make advance payments, including payments subject to VAT, and draw down advance payments on receipts. The functionality also provides tax documents that are required by legislation and outputs for financial statements and VAT reports. This new feature provides a posting preview of tax documents for advance payment.
