This post is part of the series on Implementing Node Builder; in particular I m creating a node to add EFT Bank information when adding a creditor.
The first time I installed Node Builder I received an error when trying to log in:
Connection Failed
A connection error occurred while trying to connect o the Node Builder database. Check the server settings to ensure Node Builder is pointing to the correct server.
When I clicked OK, the Setup window appeared. I reviewed the Installed Server and it looked correct, so I clicked OK:
Another error message was displayed:
Node Builder
The server does not exist or does not have Node Builder installed on it. Please enter a valid server.
The server was correct and did have Node Builder installed, so I did some exploring. Eventually, I found that the NodeBuilder SQL user did not have permissions to the database:
Adding the db_owner role to the NodeBuilder database resolved the problem.
I’ve installed Node Builder since this install and have not had the same issue, so it looks like this was a one-off glitch. However, it is something that I will keep in mind for the future.
What should we write about next?
