Now that Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 RTM is available, I thought I could follow my usual pattern of posting a series of posts on how to install and configure both Dynamics GP, but also the additional products which ship with it. You can find the series index for these posts here.
Over the last few posts, I have walked through the install and configuration of the Dynamics GP web client. Now it’s time to log into the web client for the first time.
Open Internet Explorer, or you web browser of choice which can be extended with Silverlight, and navigate to http://{address}/GP where {address} is the name or address of the web server running the Session Central Service (in my case the machine is called PI-GP.
When the page loaded, enter your Windows Domain User Name and Password:
As I am trying to log into the web client on a brand new VM I do not have Silverlight installed so I am was presented with a install link. Click the Click now to install button on the page:
You’ll be prompted to confirm leaving the web client page; click Leave this page to confirm:
At the bottom of the IE window there’ll be a link to either Run or Save; click the former:
On the Install Silverlight popup, click Install now:
Choose whether to Enable Microsoft Update and click Next:
After install is complete, click Close:
Refresh the web client page and you should see the Choose an Action page. Under Reconnect to an Existing Session, click on Reconnect:
The Welcome to Microsoft Dynamics GP screen will be displayed; just as with the desktop client, select the Server, User ID and Password and click OK:
As there is only one company in Dynamics GP so far (I did this step before creating a company), GP has logged straight in and displayed the sample company warning message:
The web client is as functional as the desktop client; and as of the 2015 versions seems to be as responsive.
Click the Exit GP to log out of Dynamics GP:
Click to show/hide the Hands On With Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 RTM Series Index
