In what looks to be the first in a set of analytics dahsboards, Mark Polino has released a Sales Analytics dashboard on his DynamicAccounting.net site.
The dashboard builds on the ideas covered in Mark’s recent Building Dashboards with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 and Excel 2013 and can provide a really good shortcut to getting started using an Excel dashboard rather than rolling your own from scratch.
When you download the file (standard zip) you get two copies of the dashboard; one for Excel 2010 and the other for Excel 2013. The file comes with good directions on how to configure the dashboard and I was able to have it extracted and connected to my Fabrikam company within 60 seconds (and I am not that competent an Excel user).
Once you have it running it is easy to use; sliders and buttons to drag or click to change the data displayed; added new transactions to GP? Just click the Refresh button to update the dashboard.
The sales dashboard is priced at $249 +$49 annual maintenance which covers updates, improvements and fixes. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing what other dashboards Mark produces in future.
What should we write about next?
