I ran into an issue recently when installing Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 where the VAT Return was not available. I was configuring the system in preparation for training a new client and was running through the Company options ( ) where I was sure the Enable VAT 100 option was but in this case wasn’t;
I felt the need to check my memory against another system where I knew the VAT Report (
) was available and checked the Company options to confirm the presence of the Enable VAT 100 option;When we’d placed the order for the new client, we hadn’t ordered them the VAT Daybook as the VAT they deal with is not complex enough to warrant using it. So naturally, when I installed the clients I didn’t install the VAT Daybook feature.
In Microsoft Dynamics GP 10, the VAT Report was part of the Financial module so there were no other features needed. In GP 2010 the VAT Report has been rolled up into the VAT Daybook feature so this module always needs to be installed to get a VAT Return even if you don’t have a license for VAT Daybook itself; in this case only the standard VAT Return is available.
I revisted the client site and amended the install of Microsoft Dynamics GP to add the VAT Daybook so the VAT Return can be used;
What should we write about next?
