Changing The eConnect Password In Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010

Microsoft Dynamics GPIn this post I discussed changing the password in eConnect 10. However, changes were made to eConnect 11 which means the password is not changed in the same way when using Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010.

eConnect 10 is a COM+ application while eConnect 11 is a Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) service-oriented application. This means the password change is a different process although it must still be done in two places.

As with eConnect 10, the first password is stored in the eConnect Service. To change this password open Services (Windows Start menu » Control Panel » Administrative Tools » Services);

Services

Find the entry for eConnect Incoming Service for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, right click and then click properties and select the Log On tab;

Enter the new password and click OK.

With eConnect 10 being a COM+ Application, the second password is in Component Services (Windows Start menu » Control Panel » Administrative Tools » Component Services). However, eConnect 11 is a WCF service-oriented application and so the second password is in Services;

Services

Find the entry eConnect for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Integration Services, right click and then click properties and select the Log On tab;

Enter the new password and click OK.

With both passwords now changed, eConnect will work correctly.
